When I go out to start my car for the first time, it will turn over and fire and then die. After that, it won't fire and start.

The first time it did this I thought I might be out of gas and poured some in the carb. This is the only way I can get it to start.

After I get it started the first time, it will start right up and run perfectly all day. It never gives me the no start problem again.

Any ideas?

Are you using the correct cold-start procedure? Press the gas to the floor, then take your foot all the way off the gas, then crank the engine.

If you are doing this and it still exhibits the problem you describe, there's something the matter with your choke. Easiest fix is an Electric choke kit .
