Without alot of techno jive just how close do valves come to piston? If valve is say hung open will it get smacked by piston? I'm talkin cold motor, valve stuck open(intake) and just crankin it over(mech lifter) :?

Smacking won't happen. There are (figurative) miles of clearance between the fully-open valves and the top of the piston on a slant-6 that's anything near stock.

Tks Dan. All 6 intakes were hangin open and after 4 days of penatrating oil and prying they all poped back. However, 2 are still hangin up when I turn it over. They snap back with a little prying and I was thinkin they mighta got tweaked a bit. Cool, more soakin with PB nut buster :)

Pull the spark plugs and start spraying PB into the cylinders.

You won't want to hear this but if the valves are "stuck" there is a good chance that the rings are also stuck.

I have freed-up" and successfully got many "frozen" SL6 engines running well again. The bad news is that many of these engines usually end-up with poor oil control at the rings.

Doc D,Tks. Just came back from giving it the evil eye, and those 2 intakes are still hanging open. I figured the motor is going to need some attention once I get r home. Thats all I'm trying to do right now is run it good enuf and long enuf for about 4miles. Once here, out come the big guns and the beer :) What about dumping in some marvel mystery oil, sticking the plugs back, and cranking it a bit, get alittle oil up on the valve stem from valve side? Working by my lonesome here and can't afford a tow truck right now(dang social security). Oh well, the rig is a "freebe" an I'm getting what I paid for
