Post subject:  framerail connectors

So, I recently received a set of framerail connectors for my Scamp from MANCINI; and I was wondering if I need to stage the car in any particular fashion while installing them.

I guess I'm concerned about putting some kind of pre-bend in the car while its on jackstands for the install. Bolting a permanent parabola into the car would be less than ideal, eh?

Perhaps there is potently for improving the suspension characteristics by intentionally adding a certain pre-bend?

afaik you need to have the car EXACTLY level front to back and side to side.

any kind off "prebend" will make the car handle goofey and may not be safe.

just my two cents

good luck

Are there factory-specified data points for checking "level" on our cars?
I think it'd be best to make sure you have the ride height and rake set exactly where you want them with typical weights in place, measure from a level surface up to several points on the frame, then try to duplicate that loading and those measurements (relative) in a place where you can get under and weld. You might have to put it on ramps (shimmed to get the car "level") to get room to work while keeping the unibody oriented and stressed as it would be on the road.
