2nd-design distributor cap released for service and production in the slant-6 engines in a '62 TSB, together with a narrow-tip rotor to cure a hard-wet-start condition caused by arcing under the original cap (1889 424). By 1966, the wide-contact cap and narrow-tip rotor had been superseded to narrow-contact caps and standard-tip rotors, but made out of better-quality materials than the initial-production caps and rotors that had caused problems.

I've seen the wide-contact caps being sold with all kinds of breathless hype ("genuine HYPER-PAK distributor cap!!!!!")

I don't see anyone talking about these on Mopars. Care to link to a post?
