I have a 67 904a with a single wire neutral safety can I put the guts of the 318 in my case, or do you think that I need to? 0.080 over 10:1 mopar 268 cam 8.75 rear end w/3:55 gears

Some parts will go, but not all. The biggest problem is the different number of splines on the input shaft, and the end of the output shaft that is inside the trans. If you are not used to working on these transmissions, you are probably better off to leave the 67 trans alone. A rebuild is not a big deal, but mixing and matching parts can be a little tricky.

The clutch discs and plates are the same, but the 318 trans may or may not have more discs then the slant. The bands are also the same.
