Are there any parts that could be added to a 225 that will enable it to keep up with a small v8?

Hell yes. Not only keep up, but outrun many of them.

There are a lot of parts that can be added to make that possible. I have not the fastest in a 53 Ford, that makes them look under the hood at the Mopar meets. Glen Terry has his doing a little bit better than mine at times. And neither of them are in the fastest, But are street driven.

Official record is 10.048 at 118.83 for the 1/4 mile, and 6.102 at 109.896 for the 1/8 mile. Tom Drake with a 1938? Simca. The car has gone a 9.85 for the 1/4 mile, not sure of the MPH, but someware arount 130 mph.

Charles Myers, Plymouth Arrow has gone in the 9's.
Cox Bros, 66 Dart, also 9's
Dale Rose, Plymouth Arrow, runs low 10's, knocking on the door of the 9's.

Cameron Tilley, from Austrailia, has gone a low 10 in his street driver.
