| Post subject: | NEW MEMBER HERE, Manual linkage question |
Hello to all, I am a new member to this forum. I have a 64 Dart 170, it is my second slant six, the first being a 72 Dart Swinger (RIP Ididnt know as much as I did now or I'd still have it.) The 64 has a 3 speed manual and the column shift is really sloppy. where can I get replacement bushings for the linkages? Also the throttle hookup on the carb is also a mess, how can I fix that up as well? Any help is apreciated, thanks all. |

Welcome on the board. You'll want to pick up at least the factory service manual for your '64, and — depending on your general level of knowledge regarding car repair — possibly the other books mentioned in this post. Don't know where new bushings can be had for the column-shift linkage, so I hope someone else will chime in on that one. There is an adjustment at the base of the steering column, which can be tightened to take some of the slack out of the linkage. The throttle linkage...need more detail so as to know what's wrong. There are pictures and diagrams in the service manual. |
