Hi Folks !

I´m planning on putting 2.2l turbo pistons into my stock 198ci, together with a 225ci crank. Do the stock piston pins fit the 2.2 pistons? What compression ratio does this combo give ? I live in germany and 98 octane fuel is available (for the hefty price of 4$ a gallon, but that´s another story...)
Thanx a lot !

The Pin size is the same, use the pins that come with the 2.2 pistons you get.

Please go to the articles section and read (re-read) the Stroking the SL6 article. The compression rations are listed there.

FYI
Just got back from the machine shop my 225 with 198 rod motor. Using KB's hypereutectic 2.2 turbo pistons #KB268 in 0.5mm OS (3.465") with Hastings 2M4222 .020" rings (moly). Deck was cut about 0.010" to cleanup gasket surface, and pistons in this block are at about 0.015" measured below the deck. This piston uses 1.5 mm comp. rings and a 4.0 mm shallow oil ring, and is not offset. Have installed on rods as a press fit, and with the valve reliefs facing the correct way. With a 45 cc chamber, and this combo I expect about a 10:1 CR with 232 cid. Check out Hastings web site, they have lots of good info on all types of engine related "stuff", www.hastingsmfg.com. Sounds like another "happy" long rod Slant Six engine combo comming together.
Boy,...from day-one, I always liked how these go together and run. Once you have "done & run" one of these long rod motors, there is no going back!
