Heater blower works but doesn't provide any heat.Any suggestions. |

Be sure that the air passages are all clear of debris and that the air handler flaps and doors are working correctly. Check your thermostat to be sure that it is allowing the engine to warm up properly. Check the heater water valve for proper action and besure the controls are all working properly. Finally check for water flow through the heater core. With the heater on and the engine warm both heater hoses should be hot to the touch. The intake will be hotter than the outlet. |

You been dippin' into your race fuel again Ron?  I was answering Mr. Jones question and I don't know where he lives. I surely don't need a heater myself until at least November.

I had the same problem. Make sure both hoses arent coming from the water pump. One of them needs to come from the head. Not sure if its the inlet or outlet hose since my car isnt here right now. Im sure one of the other guys remembers which one it is if thats your problem. |

Even been to the desert, Ron? I don't know where his lives either, but even if he DOES live in AZ, I understand it gets hot during the day, but can get downright chilly at night. I live in Texas, and although it gets hot as hell in the summer, it also gets down to the teens on occasion in the winter. I drove my Ramcharger this winter with no heat, and won't do THAT again. I frickin' FROZE. |

I gotta tell you, the coldest I've EVER been in my life was the winter of '59 in San Antonio. It was 10* and the wind was howling out of the north at probably 25 or 30 mph. Being unacustomed to that kind of weather I was ill prepared to deal with it. |

Just got a really good giggle over this one. What some people consider "cold". Canada in summer: the last while, 35-37 degrees celcius (95-98 F) Canada in Winter: warm: -10 celcius (14 F) coldest last year: -43 C (-45F) Ever wonder why no country will attack Canada? Criticize our Armed Forces? Who needs an army? just wait until winter. the invaders will leave! If your heater doesn't work, and all the other things (thermostat ect) work, try this (not a real talented mechanic, but know about cold weather) Take both heater hoses off the heater core. At a car wash or at home with high pressure washer, carefully put the end of the nozzle into one of the pipes from the heater core and gently shoot water into it. Switch between the pipes but be careful of the water shooting out of the opposite pipe. when the water runs clear, your heater core is cleared. they get jammed up like a radiator, and this is a very good way to clear it. I will usually do this every fall, although typically every couple years is sufficient. Clear water under pressure is all that's required (rinse setting), but don't open it up fully or a)it'll splash you and b)it may take out your heater core if it's weak. [/list] |

set the side windows open a crack each, put your defrost vent open but the fan off, and use outside air to circulate as much as possible. newer cars have the outside/inside air option as a switch. my duster has vents under the dash by my knees on each side. |
