I just wrote up the entire race results with times etc and lost the entire message. While this was going on Ron P posted the results so here is the short version. First Round----Gary Bruner over Myself----Barry Harrison over Norm Foster----Rodney Hargus over Dale Rose----Paul Moran over Derrick Daugherty----Ron Parker over Jack Parlier---John Guthrie over Meril Bruner----Lou Madsen over Michael Glass----Larry Chesney over Leighton Drake----Round two----Bruner over Guthrie----Parker over Hargus----Harrison over Chesney----Moran over Madsen---Round three----Bruner takes Parker---- Moran takes Harrison----Round Four----Paul Moran wins over Gary Bruner on a good final. Gary's breakout gives it to Paul. Congrats Paul. The long trip was definatley worth it. There has been a lot of negative comments lately but when you get 16 cars out to an event including new racers and numerous 10 year veterans I'm of the opinion this series is doing pretty darn good. Anyway we all enjoyed being together, had a good time and some very close and exciting racing.
Charles and Chris Myers' Jr Dragsters also made a good showing with Charles going to the finals. The word is that there is going to be a new kid on the block next year, with a new "state of the art" Plymouth Arrow. Stay tuned. Thanks Ron Hamby.

Gotta love that family mentorship! Charles is passing on the keys and keeping the Slant 6 tradition alive. I hope he turns the wick down just a tad as Charles Jr. moves from Jr. Dragster up to the Arrow!!

My 13 year old son Andrew and I did some racing this weekend here in Germany with the 1 on 1 motorsports club. We didn't drag race though. We were having too much fun dodging cones on the slalom/autocross/road course.

I'm glad you all had a good showing and a good time! We'll be there in another three years... (Andrew will be 16, Hmmm... :D )

Hey, great times at NW. Paul and I had lots of fun, and he drove the heck outta my 68 Dart - great job!

He came back to my place yesterday and we jawed and wrenched until late afternoon when he headed back to Pitt with a trunkfull of perf parts from my garage to put into his up'n'coming racecar.

Glad to see all the old and new racers out there.

Big thanks to Ron and Kay Hamby and to Tim Harrold and Empire Chrysler for another great one.

Hope to see everyone at Bristol!

Lou

Foot braking in a car I've never been down the track in before! Guess it was just my night.

Gotta thank Lou again for letting me drive the 'better' car  This man has some seriously trick rides.

Big thanks to Empire Chrysler for paying for my trip and enough performance parts to keep me busy in the garage all winter.

Thanks Ron and Kay Hamby for making this THE place to really enjoy the company of other slant sixers. Way better than the big and distracting classic events. It's like a family picnic and car show rolled into one.

It was a long ride home, but I sure had some stuff to think about this year.

Maybe not sooo long????? Bristol??? It could happen??

And the VERY best part was the next morning when I got to show my little boy the trophy.

WOW! :D
