I just read the informative 833 article and have a question about the OD version. It says the shifter is tricked into thinking it is a regular shift between 3rd and 4th due to the OD trans. What exactly do I need to do to get the shift correctly that is different from the regular 833?? I seem to be missing something--maybe a few brain cells!!! |

The front shift paddle is positioned on the 'toggle' differently than the standard A-833...the paddle is pointed up/reversed so the 3-4 shift in the A-833 will become a 4-3 position shift (which is actually a 3-OD shift) since the gearing in the box is sized differently...-D.Idiot |

Because of this differance the 3-4 shift arm is longer in the 833od and has a bend than the standard 833 shifter arm does not. The other linkage arms are the same as the standard 833 set. Here is how I did it, not the cleanest application, but it works. http://imageevent.com/jeffc/scampworks? ... =4&s=0&z=2 The front "tab" or flag would be "up" on a standard 833 like the 1-2 shifter tab, not down like in the photo. |
