I see a few questions on torque convertors and higher stall and I have a question. I have been driving in Vancouver B.C. traffic for a couple of months now. I am considering a cam and higher stall convertor. How does stop and go traffic affect the higher stall? Sometimes its a real snail pace. I dont want to be squawking the tires and then stopping 10 feet later. Also what will happen if I end up trying to move while under stall speed? Thanks for your responses.

I have a 2800 (tests actually to 2500), and I haven't had any problems, no noticeable difference, takes off slow just fine, except when I punch it, it launches pretty good. It won't really creep much waiting at the stop light, but it doesn't lurch if I take off slow.

I did get an extra deep (extra quart) oil pan though, for better heat control.

Add an extra cooler in series with your factory cooler. The factory cooler will warm the fluid in cold weather.

A temp gauge isn't a bad idea. I have a 2200 stall in my van. It didn't hurt mileage over stock. It helps motivate the 5800lbs up steep hills.

I have driven as high as 4200 stalls on the street as daily drivers. If you do not stand on it, you will never notice the difference.

I run deep pans on all my transmissions, and a small extra cooler.
