My electronic distributor has two pick ups, is this normal? I thought they only had one. |

The two pick up variety is for the late truck and van slants with the ESC /Lean Burn setup...the early 80's versions had only one pickup in them ...but both are 'static' in timing (you have no advance mechanism in it...). If this is a car, swap it out for a standard one, or if you were junkyarding, look at something in the late 70's time frame (car or truck). -D.Idiot |

Thanks. It came with an engine/trans that I bought. No way to make it work? Replace the pick ups with a single one? Just junk it?. |

Yup, throw it out. The dual-pickup distributors don't have conventional advance mechanisms. |

Actually , if you are going to go with an EFI setup later in life and are using a system that can use a stock style 'locked out' distributor, that would make a good candidate (the Holley system I have will need the 1981 Dodge distributor with the single pick up I have stuffed away). Otherwise, it's a 'pitcher'...-D.Idiot |

It wouldn't surprise me if one of the EFI guys here could use it. Might want to post it in the For Sale section. I'm running a Lean Burn distributor on my Dart. |
