I have a 63 Dart. Stock 170 c.i. slant 6, stock 3 speed pushbutton trans (what is it called anyway?). Stock rearend 7 1/4, stock gears. How fast will it run in the quarter. (I'm taking it out next month, but I'd like to get some thoughts)

I had a stock 170 in my '66 for a while. Best it ran was a 20:12.

Cool ride! I have a 63, 170, 3 on the tree. I want to take mine to the track but I don't think I can run it without seat belts. Belts would be pointless until I get new floors, those are a ways off. Anyway I am very interested to see what you can run.

good luck

The '66 Valiant 100 that I had went 21.22@65.50.
It was a 170, 904, unknown gear, with 149,000 miles on it, left it in drive, still had points dist in it. I think a fresh motor, or one with 100,000 miles less wear, and a couple of mods would have put it in the high 19's. The mods being a larger exh system and a re-curved electronic dist.
My '68 Valiant 200 with 39,000 miles went 18.19@74.84. It's a 225, 904, unknown gear, 2.25 exh, electronic dist with 15* initial/15* mechanical.

We've called it "trash on the dash" for the last 30 years or so.
