Post subject:  Valve Sizes

I was looking at some stainless valves 1.70 and 1.44 they are made by EPN. Who is that?

I can't find them via Yahoo search.

Are these big enough for 5000rpm? I am wondering how big you can go with valves.

My head is great except for the stock valves. I am sure the breathing is greatly improved as is.

I have only seen that EPN name on ebay.

You can certainly pull over 5000 with those valves. If you blend them in well, they'll definitely make more power than stock valves.

BTW, is your sig right that you are running 58 MPH at 10.58 in the 1/8th? Seems like a low MPH for that ET to me. I know my 68 Dart is lazy off the line, but it ran 11.80 @ 58 at NW. Maybe you mean 68 MPH?

I am wrestling with a 3 on the tree, and don't know how to leave the line.

I usually don't hit third in the 1/8th. No tach. I have a tach, it's too frikken hot to install it. Definately 58mph.

DusterDave says it equals to 119HP at the flywheel. He has a street driven 528 blown hemi with 2 dominators in a 73 Duster.

What I'm saying is that you should be running a lot slower ET with a trap speed of 58 MPH, or a lot faster trap speed with a 10.58 ET.

That's what I ran at Huntsville Dragway, and Immokalee in Florida.

Stock valves will go over 5000 if ya got some valve springs.

Joel Harris has stock valves in his 69 and it is a flyer. :D

Well never had a tach on this modur ( :P ) Never one that worked right! I hooked one up without instructions. Hooked to the wrong coil terminal. It read 4500 over about 1K and just bounced around a lot @ idle. Doesn't want to work right now it's hooked up right.

Gotta go out to the garage and look for a knee kicker. Put the finishing touches on the new tach
