What does it cost on the average to fill a 10# bottle these days.

It all depends on where you buy it. I'm paying $2.50 now, but I am really getting it cheap. Most places around here are between $4-$5 a pound.

Nope. Been working on the wife for that one.

I was out playing test & tune tonight on a back road at a buddy's farm. I've got something going on. Need to figure it out. Engine Noise... My mech's stethescope is saying I've got some dry valve noise. Working on it.
And right when I was starting to get some power worked up with the carb. :?

Stand-by.

I pay $3.95 a lb for my fills.
After you fill the empty bottle, it's not that bad, I usually "top-off" the bottle and it takes 4 - 5 lbs. ($20.00 give or take a few $$)

I get a "BIG" bottle at a local welding/industrial gas supplier. Cost is about $90.00, and fill my own 10 pounders. I estimate about $2.00/lb. The large bottle is sold by cu/ft, not lbs.

Charlie,

Do you have a pump for the N2O or do you chill the receiving bottle? Are you weighing the bottle to see how full it ends up?

No pump, wish I did have one, it would cut down on waste. I use the temp/pressure differential method. At home I chilld the 10 pounders in the freezer, and have the big bottle (dark Blue) in the Florida sun. At the track, I have a big cooler filled with ice, that will hold two 10 lb bottles. I have an electronic scale for weighing the bottles. I had the scale for weighing the charge for air conditioners.
For a weekend of racing, I make sure I have at least 40 lbs available, in the small tanks. You only use about 5-6 lbs from a tank, before refilling.
