We have already discussed how neat the Aus. oil pump is because of the ability to place your filter/cooler (or both) anywhere you need it. But what about these remote oil filter kits from Perma-Cool (and others)? Does anyone know if the Chrysler V8 kit will work on a slant?

The filter is the same between a /6 and V8 so the cheap remote filter kits will work, but it's still a cheap kit.

Why do you want a remote filter and/or cooler anyhow?

The main reason is for a cooler. I'm not sure how much heat the turbo is going to add so I am just thinking ahead.
The other thing that has always bugged me is that I can't fill the filter when I change my oil.

I just always hated dumping oil on everything in a five foot radius. Thats why I am coverting, just for ease of changing filters.

What kit were you thinking of using?

I emailed an Australian parts house and asked if they had, or could get ,rebuilt oil pumps for a slant. Its been two days without an answer but if I ever get one Ill let you know of the results. Does anyone have the Mopar part number for these?

I recieved a reply about the Aussie oil pump. The reply said that they would sell me one (needs reco), which I guess means needs rebuilt, for 85 Australian dollars which is about $68.75 U. S.. Here's the email address if anyone wants to buy one of these---
sales@pentastarparts.com.au
It supposedly takes the same internals as the American slant oil pump. I think I'll pass up this deal. $69.00 for a core is pretty steep.
