Does anyone know who makes those teflon piston pin buttons? I think every parts house that sells engine parts for aircooled vw's has them and I've seen them used on small block chevy's but I cant find any for Mopar's. |

They're machined teflon plugs that take the place of the spiro-locks normally used on wrist pins in free floating applications. Here's a link to a vw site showing some pictures. http://store.bajasandrails.com/engine-c ... ttons.html My grandfather used them on small block chevy race engines and when I was rebuilding a v-dub engine years ago, and came across them in a catalog, I used them in it. The wife and I drove that vw for several years after with no problem and I was thinking about them the other day but cant find them for mopars. Maybe I'm not looking in the right places. |

I haven't seen anyone use them in a car motor for years. We used to use aluminum buttons in KZ motors. Teflon would wear grooves in the cylinder walls. ![]() |
