Post subject: | Exhaust Spacer |
As some of you know I am in the process of putting a 225 in my 66 Valiant, as a replacement for the slightly toastie 170 that had to come out. My question is about the exhaust pipe. Since the head seems to be about an inch higher on the 225 I am assuming the exhaust header pipe will be about in inch low (to keep the pipe in the same location). I was thinking of fashioning a spacer out of stee or something that would make up the difference there. Am I trying to re-invent the wheel here. Is there something commercially available that doesn't cost $50 The other thought I had was just cutting the flange off of two or three old header pipes from the junk yard and welding them together. Any thoughts? Chris |

The spacer idea works well if you can find a way to do it cheaply and effectively. |
