okay here is my problem, I am a retard,but I am attempting to deal with it. now that is out there, on to the real issue:
1966 dodge dart 270. with 225 and auto trans.
originally the car was equiped with the rod type linkage for the throttle, and tranny kickdown. It was the type that pivots and opened the carb on the side facing the firewall.
well long story short, I no longer have that carb (the old one barrel) I have a clifford intake manifold and a Weber 32/36 DGEV Progressive. I mounted it so the linkage to open the butterflies is on the same side, firewall. I have connected my old gas pedal to the rod going through the fire wall, connected the kickdown linkage, and even got a rod that brings the carb linkage inline with the rod. Now my dilema: the old carb had a bracket (ifyou will) that was attached to the butterfly and kept the rod from moving forward and backward. So the rod JUST pivoted and opened the carb.

I am trying to mock something up so I can take it to a metal shop, sheet metal shop, or machine shop so they can make me something. I will include some pics here of what I am facing.

Anyone encounter a problem like this before? I know without the pictures this description doesnt help, but I will load them tomorrow.

gonna start buying some rods, and salvage an old carb with that swivel linkage and figure out a way to mount it on my weber and use it as a fulcrum. keep you all posted.
