So the 79 motor is now in the 66 Valiant. Today I went to hook up the wire to the oil sending unit. OOOOoops

I never noticed that the 79 oil pump didn't have a sending unit on it. So what is the name of the special socket I need to get the old one off? And where the heck can I get one?

I'm also going to check with NAPA tomorrow morning and see if I can get a new sending unit. If they are available and not too much $, maybe I'll just get a new one.

Thanks for any info.

Chris E.

They'll probably have the socket at Napa also.

I just took the sending unit out of my 79 with a six sided deep well socket. 1 1/16" maybe.

I was always a fan of crescent wrenches for the oil sending units.
