I've had similar thoughts for my '62 but mount it sideways next to the engine for more clearance, tho the carb maybe in the way of the master cylinder. Pretty cool car anyway, how you'd hide everything under the hood might be tough, maybe a taller six pack scoop mounted to the rear most edge of the hood?

My brother has been trying to talk me into using a Eaton blower on my slant instead of the turbo I have planned. This one on Ebay doesn't look as nicely packaged as Als though http://www.projectplato.com/cars/bigredhome.html

I've seen that Dart driving around at Mopars at the Strip, so it does actually work. Not sure how well it works, but it is a really neat idea. :D

The red car is board member Al T. :D :D :D

It works fine. I picked it up in Kingman and drove it in Phoenix for a few days. Drove 50 miles in 108 degree heat and it didn't overheat at all. I did, but it was fine.

I was wondering how much cam to sue with a supercharger. I am not sure what was done when the engine was rebuilt and I don't really want to scatter a bunch of parts the first time I take it to the track. My plans were to keep the engine fairly modest because of the blower.

I have a couple of pre 76 blocks and transmissions lying around, so I was going to just have everything smoothed and trued without increasing compression. I have a comp 264h kit, but am not sure if this will work well with the blower. I planned on hardened valve seats and a bit of porting, a rebuilt 904 with a mild stall converter and 3.55 posi rear. I would like to take this on Drag Week, so it still needs to be able to drive on the highway on pump gas. It drove fine in Phoenix, though it dieseled a little, I am pretty sure that was due to heat more than lack of octane.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Oh, and the pictures don't do the sheetmetal justice. The body is in great shape with a mediocre repaint. It should come out with a bit of elbow grease, but there is absolutely no rust. It looks better underneath than on top. The interior has some typical Arizona wear, but is still fairly presentable.

Thanks

Oh yeah, it has Dutra duals and an electronic distributor conversion.

I have another 66 GT Dart that needs a good hood and have an ok hood that is going to get cut up for this one.

Might want to get some better ignition, distributor curve. The 264 Comp Cam should be ok but you can get a custom grind from Elgin Cams in Redwood City Ca. He will make a cam designed around your engine specs.

I love that body style! Do you have a "pop off" provision on that intake?

Doesn't have a pop off yet, but it will.
