hello /6ers- been reading the items on the ford 8" rear over the last few mos and wondering if it is an ideal replacement in a and f body mopars. seems the days of the 7.25 and 8.75, even the 8.25 are over. i never see these in junkyards anymore. correct me if im wrong but it appears the ford 8s are plentiful in yards especially in 3 or 3.09 ratios which is good for stickshift a's and f's. from what i hear and read they readily bolt in to these mopars fitting the spring perches . does the mopar driveshaft ujoint bolt in too? word is also that the regular large bolt pattern mopar wheels slap right on to this rear too. dont think dealer parts for the 7 and 8 mopar rears are still available either. have seen clip joints supercharging customers for these parts especially for the 8.75 rear. the 7.25 in my feather and the 8.25 in my volare seem to be running ok right now. better to work on a backup plan now rather than wait for a breakdown and be gyped by a clipjoint vendor. think im one of the few old guys left who hates going to the cleaners. anybody here ever been to the cleaners? regards bob f

Big bolt pattern wheels fit, U-joints do not, spring perches may or not, as they use different length axle tubes (model specific). But they are as strong as a ford 9". Look for something around 76 or older in fords.
