Post subject:  Steering isolator replacemnt?

Wifes car (63 Valiant) has manual steering. I was noticing that there is or appears to be an isolator joint?? The steering wheel can turn before the shaft connected to the box moves.

Is there certain way for this to replaced or can it be? I havent been able to find anything at the local parts stores...

Thanks for any insight..

Dodge dealers have this rebuild kit, and it is the same one for late model trucks/vans. Ask for a 1992 Dodge Ram Van and that will be the right kit, if they can't look it up for your Dart. Should be about $15.

Lou, are you quite sure the coupler box rebuild kit is the same? I can believe offhand that it's the same as far back as '65, but '64 and earlier cars have a different type of coupler. The difference isn't so great that I could definitely say it won't work, but it bears verification.

The only coupler service package p/n I find in the '90-'93 truck & van FPC is 4443 436.
