I almost had a heart attack today. I nailed the gas on a little straight away today. I was 2-3 seconds into it and noticed the oil pressure coming up from 30psi to 60psi. I let off of it and it stayed at 55psi. I am thinking what the hell is it doing down around 30 psi anyway, especialy after 2-3 second of high rpm. The problem with an expensive motor is the worrying. |

Not really sure. There are a couple of drops hanging from the oil pan but no oil on the floor. It must have been a little low to start with, dripped a pinch, and 5 runs at the track with the motor recently been thorn down and resembled, maybe burned some? |

It is not unusual for a new motor to burn a little oil until everything gets "friendly" with each other on the inside. |

You were definitely uncovering the pan pickup. If you are using a stock pan, they are marginal when you get to high accel motors. Try to make sure the pickup just touches or is barely above the floor when assembling, and I angle mine towards the back a bit. I build custom pans for my cars with baffles and such for g-forces in all directions. Lou |

Do you have some pics of the pans and baffles?
