What is the best way to earth the fuel tank sender on my 61 Valiant? (I don't like the existing earth set up). |

The factory earthing strap bridges the fuel tank sender to the body fuel line. It works fine, but if for whatever reason you don't like this, you could use an ordinary hose clamp around the fuel tank sender outlet pipe, and run a wire from that hose clamp to your preferred earthing location. (note to readers: in England and many Commonwealth countries, the term "earthing" is used for what we in North America call "grounding".) |

I know rust is said to be a conductor, but the rust on older gas lines makes me leary of the ground strap on the Mopar fuel sending units. I agree with Crickhollow here. Maybe it doesn't make any real difference, but I feel better getting a clean ground there. Sam |
