I was reading an article " Aluminum Slant Six Engine Overview" and had a couple of questions about the numbering on the engine block. My block has many more numbers on it than in the article. I would like to know what they mean. Thanks

I don't know anything about the numbers, but wonder if your engine runs. Is it in a car? You should feel good about having it at all, and I hope you get it going if it does not run now.

It is a block that was never in a car. It was assembled, run in the Chrysler testing lab, torn down for inspection, and put away. It has been in indoor storage ever since. I am interested in decoding these numbers. Awsome car!!!

Thanks man! I hope you find a nice car for your aluminum slant. Doctor Dodge is most likely the guy to help you figure out how to build it.

Thanks. I looked long and hard to find it. I have had it in my garage for about 22 years. Now I am trying to find someone who can decode the numbers.

F ortunatly, I have been building racing engines for over 35 years. I am just curious on how to decode the numbers.

In that case, Doctor Dodge is likely still the go to guy to get info on campatability of parts, gaskets, heads, cams etc. He is part of a racing community that has traveled this road more than a few times, and their advice is "priceless" as the Master CArd ad says.

Both numberings are stamped in.

The only number on this block at that location is 7/16. Thanks Doc
