Using a search engine to try to try to find the above mentioned kits, I found this: A chinese manufacturer of oil pumps. Check out the oil pump in the bottom right corner. I wonder who they make this for? Melling is made in the U.S.A. , right? http://www.pingchai.com/web/eproductt.a ... &newstype= |

Given that you found this Ping Chai outfit in China, I would say it is a better than good guess that this is what you get no matter whose name is on the box these days. |

The bolts are the pump hold-down bolts, not the cover bolts. The couple I have seen over here is all 5 bolt - on cover types............ Impeller size is the most important piece of information you need when ordering a oil pump rebuild kit. In general, the 6 bolt pump is the .650 impeller and the "5 bolt" are the thicker .826 impeller. Over the years I have seen some exceptions to the number of bolt holes verse impeller size. DD |

Oh boy!!!! If you go to that site, and scroll the pictures, the lower right hand one looks like the slant six. However, click on the picture, and it gives a part number PC 1044, then M66C which is the melling part number for the slant oil pump. Then lists the application as being FORD. This does not give me confidence in their products. |

Autozone lists 3 oil pumps for the slant - M-66HV ($57.99) , M-66C ($39.99), and the OM-66-C for the "What the #$&* is going on here" price of $105.99. The first two pumps are listed as Melling units and the last one is listed as Hi Tech. Does anybody know what's so special about the Hi Tech pump? |
