On this 66 Dart with 10" brakes I just traded a lawnmower for, all of the front wheel studs are loose in the brake drums. Looks like the drums were replaced some time ago (they have dirt and rust) and they didn't use new studs to press in, though that doesn't explain why the left side studs are all RH thread. Is this going to cause a problem, or can I wait a while to fix this? The brakes seem to work OK. The wheel isn't held centered by the wheel stud locations as much as it is by the accurate fit of the center hole over the hub, is it? |

If the studs are just loose in the drum, and tight in the hub, you will be OK. |

I've had 10" drums on my Valiant for a while with the drums loose. It has screw-in studs, so there is no swedge anyway. ![]() |
