Anyone know if the rear shock mounting plates are interchangeable between the 7.25" and 8.75" rear ends?

No but they are interchangeable between the 8.25 and 8.75 (as well as the Dana 60).

Nope 7 1/4 has 2 1/2" axle tubes and 8 1/4 and 8 3/4 use 3" axle tubes

Thanks, it never occurred to me that the axle tubes could be a different diameter. Makes sense.

I'm asking because I'm planning to get new KYBs all the way around and was hoping that the shock plates would be up to the task. What's on there now have seen better days.
