I finally got the roll pin out that holds the steering box into the steering column coupler. Before I pull it all part (finally!) to swap out boxes, do I need to make note of the relationship of the steering wheel to the position of the input shaft on the steering box to the position of the pitman arm?? Like will it work out that the steering wheel will be pointed straight ahead and the notch on the input shaft of the steering box will be at 3 o'clock and the pitman arm will be facing directly towards the rear of the car ?? Or am I overthinking this ?? I've never done this before and don't wanna mess it up... thanks in advance.. |

The input and output shafts of the steering box have "master splines" (extra wide) so that things can only be put back together the right way round unless you ignore the master splines and use brute force to put it together wrong. |

OK. Thank you so much. Like I said I've never done this before and don't wanna wreck anything on that nice FF steering box. |
