What does one get for $487.34? Just the rocker arms? Rockers and a shaft? If no shaft is included do the rockers require a hardened shaft? What ratio is standard? Are custom rocker shaft spacers needed? Are the roller tips pressure oiled? Thank you for your efforts on this! |

Just got off the phone with Sheldon at T&D. One the technical side... Rockers are T6 aluminum in the same style as their big block rockers that live with 1000 lbs of open valve spring load. Rockers are needle bearing at the fulcrum and pin and roller on the tip. For an extra $12.05 each rocker you can have a rollerized tip. Rocker has internal oil passages to lube the fulcrum, tip and pushrod adjuster. The needle bearings ride on the rocker shaft and the stock replacement shaft sold by Federal Mogul has been proven to work fine. You supply the rocker shaft, spacer shims come with the rockers. Business side... Need 10 sets ordered at once and paid for at time of order to get the $487.34 price. We can have any ratio we want, but all 10 have to be the same. Someone would have to step up and act as a clearing house to collect all the money and place the order. I would expect this to be a cash deal unless the money man can accept credit cards through Pay Pal or their existing business. |

If we need to get one person to do this if no one will then I will. Does that mean that I am going to get a set? NO I cant swing that for at least a month or so. The only reason I did this was to help out those it could be usefull for. Even though I've had my fits with my slant I still enjoy it enough to try and give it the best parts. let me know if this is ok with everyone that is in on this. just pm me |

I am interested in a 1.6 ratio set and would need a month or so to get $$ as well. I will try to call Sheldon too and ask more specific questions about the oiling. Due to the RAS rockers deficiency here, I feel inclined to double check their actual geometry/plan here. We could set an end date to have money in and place the order of 2mo from now or so? Lou |

me too. Going to need a month for shell out that cash. Also going to need a little help with int'l shipping, as in somebody willing to receive my rockers and forward them to me via USPS EMS. Of course I'd pay for all expenses this might cause my so far unknown benefactor. I'd go with the crowd about ratios. 1.6, 1.5 would be good for me.

Here's an old pic of the 'T' in T&D. Car is 6 cylinder powered (Buick V6). IF the rocker oiling looks good, I'm in for a set, maybe two if I can get 1set @ 1.5 and 1set @ 1.6. One more question, if we ever needed a spare rocker, what kind of cost would that incur? |

I would suggest locating rocker shafts before committing money for the roller rockers. I bought 2 shafts last spring, form Car Quest Warehouse. Sealed Power, number RS-620. I was told then, there were only these two in the Sealed (Fereral Mogul) Power warehouse. Just did a online searce and called Car Quest warehouse, and am unable to find any more. |

When I spoke to Sheldon he said the stock shafts were fine so why wouldnt we (besides ooh-aahh factor) reuse our old ones that are healthy? |

Just about any used shaft will have a lot of running time on it, which will equate to wear. I would be concerned about running the new bearings (in the rockers) on a worn shaft. That would be like putting a new wheel bearing in an old race.

I will try to mike some old shafts I have around. The other way to look at it is that an old shaft will be polished and work hardened so might be better than a new one. Material might be better too, depending on the new shaft source. Lou |
