Hey All,

The dist I plan on using is the one on the left. The one on the right is what came out of the engine originally. Note there is no large O ring on the dizzy that came out of the engine originally.

The big O ring on the clean dizzy makes contact with an edge that has been chamfered into the engine block and does not allow the dizzy to actually seat agains the block itself.

Is this ok? Will it mess up the gear alighnment on the dizzy/camshaft?

Thanks guys,

Chris

It will seat just fine, although when you first put it in it doesn't feel like it.

There are supposed to be two O-rings on the slant-6 distributor: The big one at the top, and the small one in the shank groove. Make sure they're both present before installing the distributor.

You may want to swap the old-type hold down plate on the new distributor, and the new-type hold down ring on the old distributor. The ring-and-foot setup makes timing adjustment easier.
