I was given a Sun Super Tach. II. Previous owner said it did not work on his fuel injected 305 ChevyV-8.Is it possible this tach. would function on a six cyl., but not on a v-8? Also, could I use the nice factory tach. out of my 1992 Caravan(with the crappy Bendix Antilock brakes.) As I've posted before, my vehicle is a 1979 stock 225 1bbl.2wd, D-100 pickup. (This year truck could have been ordered with a factory tach. as it came standard on the Warlock and Lil Red Express.) All opinions on gauges for slants, but especially tachometers are appreciated. THANKS. |

Your Sun Super Tach II will work fine on your slant six. There is a switch in the back for 8,6,4 cyl operation. I am not sure why it wouldn't work on your friends V8. I looked at the switch on the back and it was set on 4 cylinders,so I set it on 6. No wonder it didn't work on his V-8! The motto is; Don't forget to "switch" your switch !! |
