I thought you might be interested in my latest project. 225 with GM multipoint injection using Delco ECU with Kalmaker memcal. Most parts are from our local Commodore which runs the GM 3.8 litre V6.
Cheers Mal

So far so good. The kalmaker memcal can be real time tuned but I don't have the software so have not done a final tune, but it revs cleanly up to the built in rev limiter 5200 and is very smooth through the range although the idle is a little rough. I am hoping to get a dyno tune in the near future.

I did a longish trip yesterday 270 kms and it returned 12.5 litres per 100 km
I think thats about 23 miles/imperial gallon.
The car is an "R" Series with T5 gearbox, 3.45:1 rear end, 4 wheel discs, power rack and pinion, A/c, cruise, central lock and lots of other little modern touches.

Post subject:  Update on EFI

Thought you blokes might like an update on the project.

I have done a few long trips including towing the caravan for about 6000 miles.

On the long tow trip I had valve problems, clearance disapppeared on exhaust valves due to valve seat reccesssion. I have since replaced the head with another reconditioned one with hardened seats and new valves.

I had my friend from Adelaide call through with his tuning laptop etc. and he did a final tune as well as fitting a knock sensor.

Since then we did a weekend trip to Kings Canyon a 1000 km round trip. All went great and returned 26 mpg while driving at 70mph with the a/c running.

I am pretty happy with that and I think that it is all sorted now. So I will just enjoy the reliability and smoothness of this retro EFI engine.
