Hey All, I noticed that the carb base gasket in my fel pro kit dosen't have a cutout for the pcv passage. I'll just cut it out with a punch. But then I noticed that there are other ports on the base of the BBS carb. Are these supposed to be sealed by the gasket? I'm sure this carb will need a rebuild too. Are there many different rebuild kits for the BBS? I don't see any numbers on it to reference. Am I missing something. Does anyone know the rebuild kit part # I would need? Or do I need more info first. Thank you! Chris E. |

Whether or not there are different kits for different BBSs depends on whose kit you buy. I recommend a Walker kit; they're of better quality than other commonly marketed kits. There are even better/more complete/more expensive kits available from specialty vendors, but usually a good quality normal kit will do the job. The base gasket does need various cutouts, and it should be the 5/16" to 3/8" thick one, not the 1/8" thin one. I am assuming this is for the BBS you showed us a picture of a few weeks ago. In that case, the correct kit would be a Walker 15483A. If you're not sure where to buy Walker kits locally, contact Walker on 323-232-3359 or perhaps ask CarbsOnly if they can supply it. |
