Does anyone know if a late A body front bench seat has the same bolt pattern as an early A body. Trying to find a cheap seat for my 66 Valiant. thanks! Chris E. |

I run a split bench with the buddy seat that has six way power in my '64 and I love it. I'm not sure of the vintage but I would guess late 70s Dart or Duster. I had to replace all my floors so I was starting from scratch anyways but I'm almost positive you will have to drill some holes in your floor to make it work. Definitely a good upgrade if you're not a stickler for period correctness. |

I have installed several late A-Body bench seats into 60-66 A-bodies with very little work. I find that it is best to re-use the seat tracks from the old (original) seat. These have pressed in studs that allow them to be bolted to the seat. Later seats have similar bolts, but in the seat frame itself. I simply press out the ones in the seat tracks and bolt them to the new seat using the later system. (The spacing is identical.) Works like a dream! Let me know if you have other Qs. |
