Have both available to race with or even a blend.
Questions are:
1 whats the diference in preformance (ETs)
2 are there any considerations in the engine build?
This is Drag only Still considering a power adder car.
Thanks

Alcohol motor will be able to use more compression than a pump gas motor. I have seen guys switch back and forth between race gas and methanol. Meth will make a ton more torque and will change less when the weather changes.

There is currently a lot of interest in E-85 because of the octane rating and cost. Main drawback I have seen so far is quality has been very spotty.

One thing to remember if you want to try and spray with alcohol. Your tune-up has to be spot on or you will hydraulic a cylinder and push the crank out.

Turbo works well with alcohol, but again, tune-up is crucial. :D

Thanks Dennis
So there isnt any special gaskets or what not between the two? I remember back in the mid 80s I couldnt run gasahol in my Toy truck (injector o rings or something) also bad proformance.
Would you sugest starting with a blend and work my way up?
You say Spray? like NO2?
I thought It was used to replace the gas.
Thanks

Nitrous (NOS) is used to augment the air, not replace gasoline. Nitrous is an oxidizer, and brings more oxygen to the combustion chamber. It is necessary to add additional fuel ( gasoline, alcohol, etc), when the nitrous is turned on.

Frank, I would either run gas or alcohol, never a mixture of both.

E-85 is the exception, but I'm guessing that's why there are fuel quality issues. Hard to get the mix right.

Thanks Guys
That makes good sense. Its nice to know that the motor will work with a power adder.
