Piston 'compression height' is listed at 1.760 inches.
Piston deck height is listed at -.140

As noted, factory built engines are usually different (more) on the piston deck height number.

I was on the phone with crower and ross pistons to put together an idea of the cost involved with the whole custom route. The pistons were pretty reasonable at about 650+pins but the rods from crower were around 185   so that might be out of the question.

That the question they kepped on asking so heres the next one. How big/wide is the big end of the rods for a slant? bbc rod that are 6.8/2.325/.990/.991 are 110 bucks a pop. Would those be an option?

Im using stock rods on all my builds save one. The Duster(Gods Rods) is a pretty hot engine build and the rods are stock. Unless you are trying to set records spend you money elsewhere. My .02

I use stock rods in all my build-ups and have never had a con rod failure.
(Knock on wood)

I do spend a lot of time nad energy on the stock rods. I usually start with 15 to 20 rods and select the best 8, then do all the prep work.
I get to the "final 6" and those get ARP bolts, resized and balanced.

The big "tip" for avoiding con rod failure... use a real light piston.
