Hi all,

Well after several days and searching the org. I have my motor jacked up, pan is close to coming loose, but not quite. I have a pipe in the way that I assume is attached to the oil pump and sucks the oil up through the pump to the engine.

I removed the oil pump, but cannot get this pipe to budge. Its the only thing I can see that is still holding me from getting the pan off.

As always any information is Greatly appreciated. I'd love to finish the demon and have her on the road for HALLOWEEN!

Thanks

Reach in there with a small pipe wrench or vice grips and unscrew the pick-up tube, drop it into the pan's sump.

The real fun will be getting everything re-installed!

The pipe is screwed into the block, you may be able to unscrew it. If not, you'll have to raise the engine enough, or drop the suspension enough for the pan to clear it. The pickup tube runs to just off the bottom of the pan, so its a long way.

Thanks for the info. I was at a dead end now to move a little bit further ahead. Curious how hard are these to turn to get out?

The end of the pick-up is a pipe thread that screws into the block, you will need some force to turn it.

Just a thought, but since I've done all this, and I doubt its ever been done. Should I replace the rear main seal and if so how big a job is it?
