Well everyone. I have learned that looking for slant sixs in boneyards is not like looking for a needle in a haystack, which is how I thought it would be. They are actually not hard to find. Looking for the 2 bbbl super six setup however, is like looking for a dropped nut in a chevy 350 engine compartment. :) In the past two weeks I have found about 14 slant six engines at local boneyards. Of the 14, about 10 had the stock 1 barrel manifold and the rest didn't have any intake or exhaust.

Does anyone know of any boneyards in or around Los Angeles, or just Southern California area? Anyone have a spare from former engine project? Also, I have a 65 Valiant 170 manual 3 spd. When people are selling super six setup with kickdown linkage, can I still bolt it in? Thanks.

I had the same problem. It took me 3 weekends of searching boneyards. I finally found one in a '77 Volare. I suggest you look for a Volare or Aspen.

Good Luck,

The Super Six was not available in cars sold in California - I'm pretty sure of that. That may be why you are having difficulty finding one.

Good luck finding one. They are usually available through e-bay.

I didn't look in Cal. because they were not sold here. I happened to be working in Florida and found several Super Six setups in a yard there (Volare). Maybe someone in that area could pick one up for you.

Alex- How badly do you want the setup? I have a Super Six intake manifold, no carb, no air cleaner, and about 1/3 of the complete kickdown linkage. I could probably fab something up for the rest of the linkage and you could snag a 318 carb and modify the choke to work on a six. Let me know if you are interested.

Reed

P.S. I have been messing around with Super Sixes for a while now and I am very confident that anything I fabbed for you would work. Plus it would be cheap! Oh yeah, I live in Tacoma WA so it would all have to be shipped to you.

Not really. I pretty much stay in Tacoma or run up to Seattle for school.
