I'm switching up to a dual master on my '64 Dodge 330 and was wondering what the donor vehicle would be. I'm buying new but the parts guys insist on a vehicle to reference. Still running drums all the way around and it's manual.Sorry, I don't have the drum specs handy.

Thanks, Pat.

Careful with brands. Raybestos, EIS, Wagner, Bendix, United are OK. Reject the garbage from Cardone or any of the pseudobrands that all sound like "Stopz-a-lot" ("master-stop", "stopmaster", "safetystop", "tru-stop", etc.) .

With four-wheel drums and no power boost, a Raybestos MC36221 ought to work well for you. That's a master cylinder for a '70 Charger with 4-wheel nonpower drums. Has a 1" bore like the original '64 single-pot master.

As for the parts guys demanding a make-model-year...yeah, I just love that shìt. Walk into a Kragen's (or similar) and tell the Burger King reject behind the counter "I only see one Anco 12-14 wiper refill on the shelf. Could you please check if you have any more?"

Reject sez "What year, make and model are you working on?"

You sez "It doesn't matter, I just gave you the part number. Anco 12-14. It's a 14-inch wiper refill like this what I am holding in my hand. Go into your inventory screen, punch in 1214, and it'll come up and tell you how many are in stock."

Reject sez: "I need a year, make and model."

You: "Fine, whatever. It's a 1972 Dodge Dart."

Reject: "Truck or car?"

You: "Dart. It's a car."

Reject: "What engine?"

You: "It doesn't make any difference! They all used the same wiper! Just pick one!"

Reject: "I need to know what engine. Does it have the one ninety eight three point two, the two twenty five three point seven, the three eighteen five point two or the three fifty five point seven?"

You: "There's no such a thing as a 350 in a Dart."

Reject: "Three fifty. Ummm...sorry, we don't have parts for that car."

You: "No, I said it couldn't have a 350 because they never came that way. A 350 is a Chevrolet engine, and this is a Dodge. It has a 225!"

Reject: "OK a 225...and does it have drum or disc brakes?"

You: "It has 14 inch wiper blades. Anco 12-14s. I can see them on the shelf behind you. Over your left shoulder. Second box up from the bottom, third over from the left. Can you please just grab me another one to match this what I have placed on the counter in front of you?"

Reject: "Uhhhh...I have to check with my manager...and he's on lunch...I could take down your, like, name and number...I guess...if you really want me to. I'd have to find paper...and, like, a writing thing...we have these really kewl headlight blackouts, they look phat if you want to impress the chizzicks and, like, stuff. They're on aisle four."

You: "<unprintable>"

Reject: "Uhhhh...like...what-EVAH..."

Thanks Dan, that's perfect. A '70 Charger should weigh about the same as my '64 B-body long roof.

I feel your pain with the parts guy rejects. We have three parts stores in my little town and I only use one guy. If he's on holidays then it's simple, I don't get parts until he gets back.

I used the one off of a 67 I think Dart. popped out the operating rod from the single lunger and inserted it into the new one. The two bolt holes lined up just right. I got it from NAPA.

I got one on the counter guys. I was asked when buying a gasket set if my 62 Valiant had an oxygen sensor? I asked if they were talking about the one for the driver or passenger, that stopped them.

I always are asked if it is a 8 or 6, the 62 Valiant.

I ordered 2 of those with the adapter and pushrod retainer. With shipping it was $133 for both. Recieved them in 4 days. One will be going on my 65 Valiant, and the other is for when I build my 64 Valiant. My 66 Valiant and 66 Cuda have the 69 manual drum brak cast iron cyls.

I saw that ad at the wrong time. I would love to slowly put the Duster on a diet. That would have been a good start.

I didn't do for mainly the weight saving. The main concern was having a decent quallity MC. There are very few sources for a 4 bolt cast iron MC. Most are new "Tru-stop", made in China pieces, of questionable quality, or remans, of equally questionable quality.

Yep!, made in China. I bought a manifold on e-bay, it came, looked good, went to use it and that is where the problem was. Had to drill and tap my own holes, especially for the heat do-hickey.

I've been over there looking. I'd love to pick one of them up. Can someone supply the info or a link?

*EDIT* Nevermind, I found the info. Thanks.
