Before I get rid of my bench seat, I'd like to know what some of my fellow slanters prefer? |

I run a bench/bucket with the buddy seat. Comfort of a bench with the sporty look of buckets. |

I actually like the buckets in my duster, but the head rest is a bit low for my head to actually rest against (6'3" isn't helping, I always wonder if a set of Grand Cherokee Buckets would fit with a homemade set of rails)... I have also had bench seats that were comfy too (a little extra padding during the re-bun, really makes a difference)... -D.Idiot [/quote] |

The buckets don't let your 'honey' sit closer to you , or let her 'slide over' during a quick corner carving...of course, if you have a manual tranny 'on the floor' shifter, the buckets are better...-D.Idiot |

When my wife and I were dating, I had a 62 Valiant Signet with buckets. Let's just say, the bucket seats did not impede our relationship in any way. |

Whatever fits your bucket. Like so much else. it depends on what the car is going to be. Benches offer some versatility in seating and other activity (as mentioned above), along with the "one-size-fits-all" feature important to some of the broader among us. For performance use, good buckets are the way to go. They'll help hold you in place when you're actually using the go-fast goodies. I don't plan on carrying more than four people again, so the middle seating is much less important now. I am more concerned with safety, and whatever seat I get next will have headrests. I like the Sebring convertible seats some folks have installed in their A-bodies, with built-in shoulder belts. |

How about the best of both worlds - bench with high backs and center armrest - looks like buckets from outside. Jerry |

Bench looks classy. Buckets are more comfortable. |
