The volare doesnt seem to be holding a charge. The alternator was changed & tested out bad. But something else must be the root, as the battery (which was also replaced) still wont recharge.
Where are the fusible links on the slant? Where else should I check.

I don't see mention of a voltage regulator...

How do I test the voltage regulator?

At this point, since you've replaced the alternator and the battery, the fastest and easiest "test" is to replace the regulator. Use a good brand (Standard-Bluestreak VR-125 or Echlin VR-38). Run a 14ga ground wire from the "GRD" hole on the back of the alternator to the regulator base, and from there to the battery negative.

I got a replacement & put it in, but havent run the ground wire yet.
Whats the reason for running that extra ground? Im just wondering, as there wasnt one on there before...

Big thread Here. Smaller threads Here and Here.

I read through the threads. Im having the same trouble finding that ground hole. I was going to use a small nut near the bottom of the alt to ground the casing...
Is the hole stamped ground or its just a hole? I should just put the wire end in, then secure it with a self tapping screw?

"stuff the wire in" is schlock. Use a ring terminal. If your particular alternator hasn't got the drilled "GRD" hole on the back, you can attach the ground wire at any of the bolt/nut heads that hold the alternator to the upper or lower bracket.

Yeah I thought of that after... I was thinking it wouldnt be threaded if self tappers were needed, but of course I would use a ring & terminate the wire properly.
I found 2 such threaded holes, in addition to the nut near the bottom that looks to be for grounding to the body. Not sure what size the scews are, need to source one out.

Post subject:  Ground wires

I bought a new MOPAR regulator from Summit and it wouldn't charge. There was too much paint on it to make a good ground. Same on the Orange MOPAR ECU.
A little scrapping helped, it got it working but not well. I had to run the separate ground wire too! It makes a huge difference! No more voltmeter, amp meter, or headlight flicker.

Okay done deal. What a difference! My lights are brighter & its all working nicely.
The other ground from the neg to the chassis is pretty beat up, but is a thicker gauge than I have on hand, so ill change that out later on.
