Post subject: | Aluminum 6 Engine response |
It's been a while since I have been on here, I have been very busy but I have a little time now. I appreciate your comments and appoligize for not responding sooner. To Sam Powell and Wizard, Engine was never in a car. I got it through my contacts at the factory from a engineer that worked on the project. This is the only Aluminum Slant 6 out there that has never been in a car. It was assembled and ran in the lab, dissasembled and inspected. I procured it in 1986 after being in storage. I never built it. I put it on a engine stand in my Hot Rod Shop for a great conversation piece. I thought it was just to rare to build. I am retired now and am getting ready to move to Hawaii. It is time for me to let this Rare piece go. So no, I will not be putting it in any car. To Joshie: unfortunately no Aluminum motors, many iron blocks, from mild street motors to a fully built, 12 to 1 CR , 3 side draft Weber, N.O.S. Killer. To All: I see Doc likes to have a little fun with you asking questions of things most people don't have the answers to. My question about the engine numbers were on the same level. These are not Mold numbers and run dates. These numbers represent code numbers for the note books of the engineers that worked on this engine in the lab. Unfortunately for us all, these books were destroyed when the project was canned. That would have been some interesting reading. Well got to go now, thanks for reading, will be happy to answer any more questions and interested in any comments. Thanks, Aluminum6 Guy. |

I can think of at least one other — can probably confirm a couple more with a phone call or two.

I would like to talk to the other guyes you mentioned that have a pre-production prototype aluminum slant like mine. I have a few questions and would like to compare stats. I would appreciate a contact number. |

I heard you the first time, but I'm afraid I must decline to share that contact info — when I am asked to respect people's privacy, I do so. |

What is so " Private" about sharing information with another Rare aluminum slant 6 enthusiast ???? |

And good reason to protect private contacts. Dan is willing to call up his contact and then pass the info about your engine, which is very nice to do, but to ask about contact info that one wishes to be private IS rude and could lose the vital link to information on old stuff that we archive. This HAS happened before at biggest loss to everybody. Cheers, Wizard |

My, how rude and self-important you are. You have just illustrated why some people don't want their contact information given out at random, and why I will not put you in touch with them. Asking again will not change the answer; I suggest you let it drop.
