Post subject: | Stroking the 225? |
Hi guys, I'm new here, although I've been building V-8 Mopars for 40 years. I've owned many slant 6's, but have never built one up. Interested in stroking a 225. I assumed there would be a lot of info on this forum but couldn't find it. Can anyone suggest a website or other place to find info on this? I also want to build this engine as a "quench" engine, so I need info on rod and piston sizes. Thanks for any advice! polkat ________ Colorado Dispensaries |

Check the Articles section of the site on the main page. The 225 already has a long stroke, so it limits how far you can go. |

My advice is not to stroke for a few reasons. 1. Cost. It cost me $850 2. The bore is only 3.4" and the stroke is 4.125". Square is better in terms of effiency. You really can't fit big enough valves in the head to support the stroke. Keep in mind I tried with a 3.592 bore and if I remember right 1.85/1.5 valves. 3. Can't reach the higher RPMs safely. |
