I bought a used ring and pinion (2.94) and it looked like is was in good shape. Had Advance Driveline here in Orlando install them. They said they could "sing" because their used even though they thought they looked pretty good too. Well seeing as I am a betting man and the odds should be in my favor because I due for something to go right, I had them installed. Well they sing alot more than I thought. I expected some noise but these babies really sing.
I assume that it won't lessen with time?
Is there some adjustment that could be made?
I watched him use a dial indicator from about 50 feet. :D
The guy seemed like he knew definetly what he was doing.

Used gears are always a crapshoot.

I have had limited success at quieting them down by taking out backlash.
