The muffler on my 71 Duster w/ a 225 is completely and entirely gone. I need some reccomendations for what to replace it with. My two thoughts are either a glasspack or a Flowmaster. Any ideas? |

Glass pack would be about equivalent to a straight pipe, it's just loud and annoying, using a higher number flow master would be good, it's generally agreed on for the improvement to have a 2.25" pipe from the exhaust manifold to the muffler then a 1 7/8 or 1 3/4" exit pipe under the bumper... good luck, -D.Idiot |

Agreed on the glasspack. Don't do it. I tried one....once....for about two months. Went to a turbo muffler instead. That lasted 5 years untill it oil canned when it got wet (realllly loud drone when going through a puddle) Then I installed a Magnaflow and love it. Sounds good, no droning at freeway speeds (in fact, its silent at 60), sounds good excellerating. This is with a manifold to rear bumper 2" system. |
