Post subject: | Coolant Hoses |
My most recent drive from New Orleans to Houston was lengthened somewhat when I blew the small water hose (~3 in) that connects the water pump to the front of the head. I had been using some kind of black rubber hose that I'd gotten from the parts store a few years back, and it appears to have started to deteriorate. To make a long story short, I had enough slack in one of the heater core feed lines to cut a replacement piece. Thank God it had rained heavily the night before, because I only had 1 gallon of water in my trunk. With a radiator full of crystal-clear Louisiana ditch water, I made my way down the road. My question to you gentlemen is this: what type of hose do you recommend for coolant lines? I want something with longevity that won't fall apart after 3 years. Money is not a factor, as an incident like this could easily have meant a very expensive tow. Also, is there a company that makes pre-made hoses for the Slant? T.I.-freakin-A. |

for that hose in particular I like to use sillycone (silicone) cuz it is hard to fish a new hose in their when they blow out. when i get a new slant one of the first things I do is to replace the water pump and switch to sillycone hose their. |
