Post subject:  Grease is grease-right ?? or ...

I am wrapping under the undercarriage rebuild of the 74 Satellite quickly. I have packed the front wheel bearings w/ a hi temp red grease formulated for roller bearings I got from work (I'm a maintenance mechanic). I have yet to grease the ball joints, tie rod ends and the pitman and idler arms. Since the new rubber seals on these are just marginal, I was considering some type of heavy equipment or fifth wheel grease so washout would not be such a problem. Rich Ehrenburg recommends Chryslers "barium based long fiber grease". I can obtain it but I have to buy a full case (10 tubes) for $80. Am I being way too critical here ?? What does everyone on here use on their own front ends ?? Thanks in advance..

I've used the moly (black stuff) for years in everything I have....

I think it's more important to actually lube things, than what's going in (except don't get cheap stuff)..............

If you go with the $80 case. You may want to list tubes on the For Sale section, You may even be able to presell it?
Just a thought.
