I am wrapping under the undercarriage rebuild of the 74 Satellite quickly. I have packed the front wheel bearings w/ a hi temp red grease formulated for roller bearings I got from work (I'm a maintenance mechanic). I have yet to grease the ball joints, tie rod ends and the pitman and idler arms. Since the new rubber seals on these are just marginal, I was considering some type of heavy equipment or fifth wheel grease so washout would not be such a problem. Rich Ehrenburg recommends Chryslers "barium based long fiber grease". I can obtain it but I have to buy a full case (10 tubes) for $80. Am I being way too critical here ?? What does everyone on here use on their own front ends ?? Thanks in advance.. |

I've used the moly (black stuff) for years in everything I have.... I think it's more important to actually lube things, than what's going in (except don't get cheap stuff).............. |

If you go with the $80 case. You may want to list tubes on the For Sale section, You may even be able to presell it? Just a thought. Frank |
